Vincent Audio Unveils A New Entry-Level Phono Pre
Vincent Audio via Pangea Audio Distributing announced today that it will be selling a new two piece entry-level Moving Coil and Moving Magnet phono pre amp this month. The PHO-300 is the least expensive of the three part series of pre amps from the company, but still retains a separate power supply housed in its own case.
The move appears to tap into the growing market of “step up” turntable buyers, either from curious first-time purchasers or analog fans that are ready to take the next step into higher fidelity regions. From the PR release:
The MM section delivers a greater than 83 db signal to noise ratio, while the MC section provides greater than 70 db ratio, with total harmonic distortion of less than 0.05%. Selection is made via a switch on the attractive, thick aluminum front panel that is consistent with Vincent Audio’s series of phono preamps. Added Mr. Niemi: “The PHO-300 features reduced noise levels and overall performance that is light years ahead of any competitive model at the same price. It’s an essential ingredient in any vinyl lover’s system.

Vinyl as a playback system doesn’t appear to be slowing down as dramatically as one might expect of a passing fad. Given the further appreciation to music, listening and hifi, the attention to detail from newcomers is most welcome in the audiophile hobby – if not for all the constituents that make up the online chatter, surely manufacturers and distributors enjoy the injection of new blood.
