Who’s ready for T.H.E. Show?
Last year’s T.H.E. Show (The Home Entertainment) was graced with near perfect Southern California weather and a nice intimate feel for audio press and show goers. Now in another go ’round we are standing on the precipice of the 2019 event, less than two weeks away from today’s posting date. Perhaps a less intimate even this year, show runner Maurice Jung is promising more “show” all around. This includes conservative estimates of 2x the gear and rooms over last year’s soiree.
The big news is the switch to a fresh venue. Having outgrown their Orange County location from last year, Maurice took the leap to downtown Long Beach – a vibrant city area located just north of the OC and south of Hollywood – the call letters to rapper Snoop Dogg’s “LBC”. The south-facing ocean front area is home to the Long Beach Grand Prix and a whole host of dining and entertainment options, something that Maurice hopes will help draw more buy in from attendee and manufacturers alike. The Hilton Long Beach is currently booked with (according to the current tally on the show website) 160 companies/brands and 62 listening rooms, and coverage from more diverse presentation of press publications is slated to make an appearance as well.
You can hear a bit more of the entire breakdown from Maurice and Emiko (Director of Social Media and Marketing) in this week’s The Occasional Podcast. Season Two of PartTimeAudiophile’s show can also be found on the iTunes Store, Android and Google Podcasts. The current episode offers a deeper dive into T.H.E. Show as well as highlights from the recent High End Show in Munich, Germany.
