HIFIMAN – CanJam SoCal 2019

TWS600 True Wireless Hi-Fi Earphone by HIFIMAN

Dr. Fang Bian, founder of HIFIMAN, is at it again. Known for creating no-holds-barred headphones, digital audio players, and headphone amplifiers that are consistently recognized as the best in class, and offering performance that belies their price point, no matter the cost. HIFIMAN releases a new TWS600 True Wireless Hi-Fi Earphone. The new TWS600’s were debuted at CanJam Socal 2019 just a last weekend. At the show good news travels fast, because many of the show attendees I encountered at the HIFIMAN booth (in Irvine, Ca) were there to see, touch, and hear the exciting new TWS600.

The most remarkable feature of the new HIFIMAN TWS600 earphones start with the customization of the standard True Wireless chip. The improvements made in the TWS600’s implementation of this chip result in a Bluetooth RF reception signal that is significantly lengthened to a staggering range of up to 150-meters.

Additionally cool features abound in the new TWS600’s. Features like nanoparticle-deposition on all active diaphragm drivers, for increased mid/high frequency detail. The use of an advanced lightweight alloy (voice)coil design that extends speed and frequency range across the musical bandwidth, along with the use of high-force magnet structures that create a magnetic field that leans more towards higher overall efficiency — resulting in longer battery life, and powerful musical dynamics. Improved latency specs are also improved for those whose listening habits also include video, streaming, and gaming.

On-board power of the new TWS600’s result in direct listening for up to 5.5 hours, but with the additional 33-hrs power provided by the portable charging case. Real world run-times for the TWS600’s is a realistic (and whopping) 38.5 hours without access to A/C mains. The TWS600’s were obviously designed to tackle the demands of an active lifestyle, and with an IPX4-rating, resistance to sweat and dirt for these earphones is little worry.

The TWS600 True Wireless Earphones will be available in July in a special limited-edition that also includes the company’s popular RE600 wired earphone at a suggested retail price of $199  USD. Both will be available from Amazon and HIFIMAN’s online store.
