The $99 Magni 6 Headphone Amp by Schiit Audio

The Schiit Magni 6 is the latest entry that in some way, really put Schiit Audio on the map. Returning to their roots, a $99 headphone amplifier was unveiled this week.
$99 won’t buy you a lot in audio, with a single new vinyl record heading skyward to nearly 40% the cost of this piece of gear. If you want to add a DAC, the price for the Schiit Magni 6 goes to $169 and you have single ended to RCAs. A lovely package which founder Jason Stoddard has attempted to make in America and return to the same $99 price point from years ago. Schiit Audio has moved the construction of the boards to their own facilities in Texas, enabling them to produce things a little more efficiently this time around. It is really great to see this type of entry-level product available for people new to the hobby. You can check out all the finer details in the press release below.

More Better, Less Bucks: Introducing Magni 6
October 30, 2026, Corpus Christi, TX. Today, Schiit Audio announced the immediate availability of Magni 6—an entirely new model with more power and more features, for the reduced price of $99.
“Our new SMD assembly line in Corpus Christi is why,” said Jason Stoddard, Schiit’s co-founder and head of analog design. “With its increased efficiencies, we can include a lot more than we have in the past—for a lower price.”
Magni 6 offers:
- More power—now 3W per channel
- A lower noise floor
- Dedicated preamp out switching
- An optional Mesh 2 DAC card for a single-box solution
- A lower price tag: $99 for the amp, $169 for amp/DAC
It retains:
- An exotic discrete current-feedback output stage
- A 100% linear power supply
- Full DC coupling
“We’re calling this ‘the headphone amp for everyone,’” said Jason. “It drives everything, it’s quiet enough for everything, it is a great one-box desktop solution, it came out of 12 years of our R&D, not a datasheet, and it’s $99.”
Magni 6 is available now at schiiit.com“
