To further expand on the growing L2 line of amplifier products, Vinnie Rossi recently announced two new integrateds that will complement the line – the L2i and a “Signature Edition” version of the same model. The latest move is a pivotal gesture to combine both the tube-friendly L2 pre amplifier with the Class AB Signature mono blocks already on the market.
Specs run down a similar format. For the L2i, dual 6SN7 octal triodes and a dual mono setup start the line-stage with a Class AB MOSFET topology heading up the output. Also highlighted are a 64-step resistor volume pot and “True dual-mono power supply with custom-wound toroidal power supply transformers” summing into 100 watts into 8 ohms.
The Signature Edition implements the class-A directly heated triode (DHT) from Vinnie’s L2 Signature Pre, Yamamoto solid Teflon UX-4 tube sockets and mesh screens on top instead of the more resessed external design of L2i. Both amplifiers are rated for 100w into 8 ohms and feature the modular approach that has been a staple for Mr. Rossi since the early days of Red Wine Audio. Both new amps allow for either a digital L2 DAC section or the L2 phono stage for an additional cost.
Each integrated is slated to hit the streets starting in September of this year with the Vinnie Rossi L2i-SE starting at $18,995 and the LSi starting at $12,995. Either (or both) the digital and phono modules can be purchased for $3495 each. Finishes options are black and silver.
