Big shiny speakers will always have a soft spot in my audiophile heart. At HiFi shows across the US, no-one does quite the same presentation of big awesome speakers in show rooms like Tidal audio. This week the Germany-based company announced a new version of their Sunray model now entering the “G3” iteration.

- Specification Highlights: The Sunray G3 features a 30mm diamond tweeter and a 125mm diamond midrange-woofer, a 168 black ceramic woofer and six 190mm long excursion subwoofers as all proprietary TIDAL designs. It has 89dB sensitivity, an easy load not below 4.5 ohms, and the typical excellent frequency response in combination with a fast step response.
- Design Features: as example the Sunray G3 is equipped with 6 x 250mm passive radiators, in a unique tuning configuration allowing each driver to reproduce a specific F3 point and correlating all together for easy placement in any listening environment and playing faster and deeper. Active mode for the subwoofers with the additional available TIDAL LPX is also possible for enhanced customization. All drivers are mounted TIDAL-typically without any visible screws in a unique way for a most rigid basket-to-cabinet installation.
- Price and Finish Options: The Sunray G3 is available in the US at a retail price of $450,000 in the midnight black gloss finish. Veneers are optional for further customization.
