In my mind, the V-Moda line of headphones has always had a serious edge in “fun” sound with a DJ-like spin without sacrificing too many audiophile sensibilities. In the midst of the “virtual” CES this year, the Roland-owned headphone maker announced both a slight company rebrand and a new ANC product to perk up the market in this actively pandemic world. The V-Moda M-200 ANC still offers the same swappable faceplate and hexagonal inspiration as the rest of V-Moda’s offerings.
Feature set niceties include a “Hybrid” active noise canceling that can be adjusted via V-Moda’s mobile app. Wireless connectivity comes courtesy of this year’s favorite (Bluetooth 5.0), and useable codecs include aptX HD along with Apple’s favorites. Battery life is rated at 20 hours of wireless playback with ANC activated. The headphone can also be used via a traditional wire for zero latency playback.
One of the more interesting features on the docket is V-Moda’s “Voice In”, where playback volumes are momentarily lowered and ANC is paused when the left ear cup is covered. A good bonus of course, is the EQ capabilities of the previously mentioned V-Moda app, equipped with 6 EQ presets or the ability to fully customize the sound to your own liking. There are also 10 levels allowed to the noise cancelling, for a more tailored listening experience.
We’re thrilled to be introducing our customers to a brand-new kind of ANC headphone where they can fully customize their listening experience, as well as the physical build and design of the headphones they’re wearing.

So now the outside and inside can be manipulated to the owners wishes. The portable, collapsible design also does well over the long haul – you can see our full review of a previous version of a V-Moda wireless headphone in our take on the V-Moda Crossfade 2 (no ANC in this version).
The V-Moda M-200 ANC is available now for $499.99 from select retailers including Amazon.
