Moon Audio always brings the goods to any show. Being a online retailer provides owner/operator Drew Baird a few liberties when it comes to the brands he can represent. Without fail, Drew brings a very fine cross-section of the best personal audio has to offer with him. From his custom Cary 300B to nearly every headphone on the market, his table is a must-stop for any portable audio enthusiast who visits Rocky Mountain Audiofest’s CanJam.
In addition to his own custom cable solutions, Drew had a few nice surprises for attendees. The good times started with a few new amps and DACs that had either just dropped into the market or will be shipping soon.
This beauty could give the sexy Cary headphone amp a run for its money. Colored nicely in mid-life-crisis red, the polish and build looked absolutely phenomenal for this full-sized amplifier. The Inspire HIA-1 by Dennis Had pictured above will ship at the beginning of November and will retail for $1,600.
In an extension of B.M.C.’s PureDAC product, Drew also had the company’s new Ultra DAC ($3,200) on the show floor. I was really impressed with the balanced output (and its mere inclusion) on the PureDAC so seeing it’s implementation in the next generation was a welcome sign.
Bringing even more depth to the product line, B.M.C. is adding a high-end media player to the mix called PureMedia which also incorporates an HDMI output.
The PureMedia will retail for $4,200 with a 2 terabyte drive.
