An Interview With Zu Audio and FLAX 2023

This week’s episode of PTA’s The Occasional Podcast features none other than Zu Audio speakers designer Sean Casey. As a bonus, the audio program also caught up with Bart Andeer, show runner of The Florida Audio Expo that occupies the Embassy Suites Westshore in Tampa, FL February 17-19th. Each take makes for some interesting insights into the hifi industry, both from the audio circuit and behind the scenes at a popular audiophile speaker brand.

Zu Audio is traditionally known for their more budget minded approach to hifi, creating a lasting legacy with their sub-$2k entry level Omen models that offer a substantial nod toward both vintage good looks and high detail retrieval. Sean joins the show to talk about his manufacturing philosophy, along with his approach to cost-no-object speaker designs. It’s a great peek behind the inner workings of the popular brand.
